MOTU DIGITAL PERFORMER CROSSGRADE MAC
If it turns out that what I have just isn't good enough (which is highly unlikely) then I'm getting a Mac and going with Logic. Right now I don't have the time to realistically DAW shop (though I probably will continue to use Sonar till the bits start to ferment) but I could afford to pick up a couple of possible alternatives for when I do have the time and when possibly either the alternatives are not affordable of I won't have the money even if they are. There's kind of a subliminal fear that this could be something (or 'the thing') that I really need. >unlike Pokémon, you don't gotta catch 'em all. There is always another sale, and unlike Pokémon, you don't gotta catch 'em all. People have done (and do) far more with far less than I have. If I'm being honest with myself, there isn't a thing I need. 2.) Recognize the difference between need and WANT.

1.) I don't buy them because they're cheap, I buy them when they're cheap. Rock on, Kenny! Here's a couple of thoughts I've shared in other threads that might be food for thought.

I do know in a few weeks all sorts of doors and competitive pricing windows are gonna close up tighter than a clams a$$. +1 kennywtelejazz Have I shared too much info ? probably. kennywtelejazz FWIW, I do have plans of using SONAR until the wheels fall off. Telecharge kennywtelejazz It's funny, you and I think very much alike even at the level of learning curve I was able to conquer.

let it set for a while and then when I have gotten around to it I have enjoyed using immensely. I have done this before where I have bought a DAW on sale. While I have the chance & hopefully the coin I want to set myself up w every available alternative I can think of that will fit my needs. In truth I would not even be able to approach some of these cross grades under a normal pricing structure Have I shared too much info ? probably. The only good thing that has come out of this situation has been many of Cakewalks direct competitors have offered SONAR users rock bottom cross grade pricing. I also want to explore all the other options I can. FWIW, I do have plans of using SONAR until the wheels fall off. I really am sorry as I am a long time generally happy w SONAR user. I am very sad that a very bad thing happened to Cakewalk. This might seem selfish to say this, but I do need to say this. Depending on licensing.then I could place D P on my Mac & PC.

I still have to see if I can pass the Ramen Noodle test One thing I do like about the Digital Performer Competitive Upgrade offer is the price is right and the program can run on my older spec Mac versions of OSX. Is upgrading Live off the table for me ? I don't know yet. THEN YOU STARTED A THREAD we all know what thread that is, so I wont mention any financial hardships my wallet has recently been through. Then when Gibson dropped the news I put that idea on the back burner. for mid 2 's I would have gotten Live Standard & i feel that's a lot better than mid 3 's for what would have been my normal upgrade price getting 10 would be also sweet. I strongly considered taking them up on the offer. About a week or so before Gibson dropped Cakewalk I had gotten an e mail from Ableton offering me a very decent price to upgrade my version of Live intro to a higher tier version of Live 9 w Live 10 thrown in once it comes out.

I do like it very much, it's a real fun one even w the Intro version limitations. It's funny, you and I think very much alike I do have Ableton Live 9 intro.

If you need a new toy for your Mac, find someone with a $50 off Ableton coupon that comes with KORG (and other?) MIDI controllers, then pick up Ableton Live Intro for $29 with a free upgrade to version 10. Telecharge kennywtelejazz Or something different for my Mac.Hhhmmm, seems worth considering.
